Altar Bridal

Altar was the third spot that I went to look for a dress my first day out. It had been a long day and was getting into the evening, I was ready to call it a day, but when I walked in that all changed. The atmosphere, the service and most importantly the dresses pepped me up immediately. I was instantly excited and had a boost of energy working with the girls and ultimately finding THE dress. I left that evening with a few in mind, but there was one that was on top of my mind. 2 days later I was back and bought my dress. I could not have made that decision without their help. They were professional yet personal to your specific needs and wants and it made all the difference in the world and helped an indecisive person decide what I truly wanted. From the service to the selection, Altar made my experience one of the best in my wedding planning and I would highly, highly recommend them to everyone!!!

As my first experience with wedding dress shopping was at Altar, I really did not know what to expect. As it turns out, we started with the best first! I cannot say enough good things about Dede, Sarah and Altar Bridal. We had five in our group including myself, the bride; Dede and Sarah were so accommodating for our larger group. This was the one boutique that I felt actually listened when I described what I was looking for in a dress. Their collections are breathtaking - all of the designers are so unique, each dress is exquisite. Dede and Sarah allowed me to take my time in each dress and were so welcoming when we stopped back in the boutique to check in on a dress for a second time in one day. Without question, Altar has the best bridal boutique customer service that I experienced in KC. Added bonus: It is a beautifully done space, very light and airy - exactly what you would imagine the perfect, modern bridal boutique to embody. I would highly recommend visiting Altar! They have an amazing collection of dresses, beautiful accessories and make an effort to take a personal interest in helping you find THE dress.

This lovely little boutique, just opened in June 2010, fills an important niche in the Kansas City bridal scene. First impressions: Altar has the best shop design of any of the half-dozen bridal shops I've seen in KC. The whole place feels modern, light and airy, which is quite a contrast to the traditional chintzy look of most bridal boutiques. Dede, the shop owner, greeted me and then helped me try on dresses herself, and she was a delight to be with. The aesthetic of their smallish but well-curated selection of dresses also seems to be geared more toward the modern bride. I saw a lot less Disney princess-style bedazzlement than I did in other bridal shops. I liked that they not only carry big-name designers but some really cool local designers as well. They also have some simple and elegant bridesmaid dresses, and lots of different accessories and headpieces. Finally, they had really excellent customer service. Dede sent me a handwritten note after my visit, including a personalized list of wedding vendor recommendations (since we'd been chatting on that topic during my fitting). AND: she set up Skype on her computer so that I could do a virtual video consultation with my mom and my sister in California! And it worked really well. How great is that?
