The Kemper Museum boasts a magnificent venue and a unique perspective for wedding receptions with it’s soaring ceilings, impressive atmosphere, angular walls and polished, black granite floor. Tell us your vision and we will make it a reality. We can create the ambiance and provide the services that will delight you and your guests. We offer delicious and visually beautiful cuisine; magnificent works of art, and a level of classic contemporary style that is a trademark for our Museum.

Having your wedding reception at The Kemper Museum offers many added advantages. The rental fee, which is tax deductible, serves as a membership to The Kemper Museum for one year. This offers a list of discounts and benefits to the Museum. The food and beverage are tax-free. Also included is the bar set up, bar tenders, complete reception set up and tear down, use of all of our tables and chairs and cake cutting is also complimentary. Our servers will place your favors or gifts at each place setting, do special napkin folds and many other extras as needed. In addition, there is plenty of complimentary parking.

We are centrally located in Kansas City, right next door to the Marriott Country Club Plaza. Only a few minutes away are the city’s developing downtown Power and Light District and convention halls.

"I greatly appreciate your willingness to work with us and your diligent efforts to work within our budget. I will definitely keep the Kemper Museum in mind should we need to host an event in the future and will recommend it to our local KC chapter."

"Our daughter's wedding reception at the Kemper was absolutely terrific. The venue was second to none; the staff very professional, yet relaxed; and the food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. The Kemper accommodated every request we made."

"A friend of mine and I ate at your cafe this past Sunday and we both ordered the variation of eggs benedict served on a crab cake. That, paired with the delicious and perfect bloody mary, made the perfect brunch. I've been telling my friends about it already. The service was great as well. Thanks for making a weekend to Kansas City even more special. I even bought two of the cookbooks in your gift shop. Thanks again. I'll be back in another month or so.

"The Kemper Museum provides the most festive, elegant and perfect backdrop for KVC’s auction of artistic and unique holiday trees and decorations. The staff is helpful, upbeat and hip. The gourmet food is superb and above all other event venues we have visited. Our guests look forward to their party in the museum with more excitement every year. Our artsy crowd feels right at home at the Kemper Museum and our patrons associate the Kemper Museum with KVC!

"The Kemper Museum is an absolutely beautiful venue to host an event. The last two years, Cornerstones of Care has hosted an event there and because the artwork is always changing, the Kemper always looks different. The food and service from Cafe Sebastienne is excellent. If you want to impress your guests, invite them to the Kemper."

The view is spectacular at the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, at least for modern art lovers. Besides the art, the award-winning Cafe Sebastienne is a big draw and is the exclusive caterer at the museum. Prices, which are tied to membership fees, vary by the space.

The Kansas City Star, November 9, 2009

Kansas City’s heartland metropolis of 2 million has a surprising wealth of contemporary art along with some rather progressive architecture to showcase it. The Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art is a stainless-steel-clad, wing-like structure with a sky-lit roof, under which is an impressive collection of modern to present-day works.

The restaurant, Cafe Sebastienne, generates the most buzz. At lunch, a well- dressed crowd occupied every table, dining on contemporary American cuisine and surrounded by contemporary art."
